Description Dow is looking for a Senior Improvement Engineer to be based in Zwijndrecht (Belgium). The plant produces HEC (hydroxyethyl-cellulose). This asset is a Dow owned plant which belongs to the Dow Consumer Solutions business located on a 3rd party industry park. As the HEC plant is operated and maintained by third party the incumbent will interact daily with people external to Dow, as well as with our business colleagues across the globe. Good communication skills are essential. This job provides an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in growing in manufacturing improvement projects and process safety. The incumbent will act as manufacturing representative for capital projects and work on process safety activities working closely with the project manager as well as the process safety engineer of the asset. The Senior Improvement Engineer serves as a vital resource for Operations by applying technical and organizational skills to drive the plant level continuous improvement program targeted at delivering maximum value from the assets, while continuously improving process safety and production efficiency. Requires expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and broadens capabilities. In this role, the incumbent provides detailed knowledge of the manufacturing process technology in project design, construction and start up phases. Ensures implementation of technology in the project by integrating operability input from plant operations, Most Effective Technology (MET) from the Technology Center, and Maintenance and Reliability inputs into definition and design. The successful candidate assures that process safety technology, management systems and hazard assessment tools are appropriately applied. This job contains some additional, local responsibilities driven by the small-site structure. The senior Improvement engineer works independently in a small team. The Zwijndrecht team consists of 9 Dow employees, while working closely with a larger group of third party employees. The improvement engineer reports to the Global Improvement Leader, with alignment to the Site/Production Leader. Responsibilities / Duties Possesses in-depth process technology and continuous improvement skill sets helping to establish credibility with the operations team. Drives knowledge exchange with technology experts to increase awareness of potential improvement opportunities for the technology. Partners with the experts to develop and implement a Plant Specific Technology Plan that delivers positive year-over-year ROC (return on capital) and non-capital continuous improvement while meeting the plant level EH&S improvement goals. Champions process safety activities and acts as a resource for relevant process safety concerns.

Profil recherché :

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Engineering, manufacturing, or related experience. Fluent in English and basic Dutch language skills Preferred Qualifications: Master degree in chemical engineering or equivalent degree (mechanical eng) Expertise in projects and Expertise in process safety 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing & engineering field Fluent in Dutch
